The campus building was undergoing an £18m refurbishment to enhance its research and teaching facilities and support the school's ambitions to be a leading international centre for research and teaching in biosciences. Clean Air Technologies have been involved in the provision of a fully operational BSL3 Research Suite.
Phase 1 encompassed the creation of a new positive pressure Cell Culture Laboratory and modifications to its surroundings.
Phase 2 works covered the creation of an animal holding area, lobby and support lab along with modifications to the office area and corridors.
Phase 3 works covered the extension and refurbishment of the BSL3 Laboratory complete with new Air Handling Plant; additional modifications and general envelope work.
Clean Air Technologies were employed for their specialist and expert skills and undertook responsibility for design and build services; commissioning / validation and ongoing maintenance services.
